Hey there Honeybun! It’s nice to see you here, I’m Samantha, the Poetic Divergent. I write poetry with the goal of counteracting some of the despair culture that we’ve all been stuck in lately. My aim is to create a space that’s cozy like a cottage surrounded by wildflowers. An internet poetry haven if you will. The collection I’m working on began with the idea of writing from the perspective of a Hobbit from the Shire. Anything that fits their aesthetic of peaceful, natural, loving, and wholesome goes. I’m sharing my work with the hope that it can connect with those who need a break from the hustle and want to slow down, enjoying the little details of life. Join me, pull up a rocking chair, and let’s get poetic.

The Divergent in Poetic Divergent refers to my neurodivergence. As an ADHD person, zeroing in on details helps me take note of my subjects on a deeper scale, which I believe uniquely supports my writing. Adding to that are my anxiety disorders which led my writing to act as a positivity practice. The more I write about what’s going right in the world, the less energy I have to focus on the negatives. It’s a win all around really.
